Open Web Awards: Round 1 (VOTE FOR US!)

Thanks to everyone who nominated us in the Mashable 2nd Annual Open Web Awards. Because of your support, Packagetrackr has been included in both the Social Shopping and Mobile Applications categories in the competition.

If you've never heard of the Open Web Awards, in their inaugural run last year, they recognized the best new web apps. The winners included Facebook, Digg, Google, Meetup, Twitter, Netvibes, woot!, Last.fm and Mahalo. It's a great honor to compete; and this year, we think we've built a site worthy to win, but we need your votes to prove that.

On the mobile side, we have just updated our iPhone/iPod Touch interface to run in the full screen mode I blogged about last month (more on that later!) It's really great and is almost indistinguishable from a native iPhone application.

As for social shopping, let's face it, without Packagetrackr, online shopping is-- well, we think xkcd has the right idea...

You can vote in this round, once per day, in each category from now until Sunday, 30 NOV at 11:59PM PST.

Here's to Packagetrackr making you less crazy.

Thanks for your votes and your support!

Vote Packagetrackr!

It's been about a week since the Presidential elections here in the States. So by now you are undoubtedly either tired of trying to see if President Elect Obama signs for his own packages, or you abandoned your plan to succeed from the Union when you realized that no carrier would deliver packages to your house sovereign nation.

Luckily, we've got the perfect way you can still practice your democratic skills! We need your nominations for the Mashable 2nd Annual Open Web Awards.

We think that we've sufficiently mashed enough stuff around here to qualify for both the Mobile Application category (hello, iPhone users!) and the Social Shopping category (We're social! You send feedback, I respond!)

We'd be honored if you'd consider submitting the below forms to show us your support! Nominations close on Sunday, 16 November 2008 at 11:59pm PST.

Thanks!
